RECAP | Uptime Institute Membership presents: South Asia Pacific Digital Infrastructure Forum - Focus on Data Center Tiers
This event was held at 10:00 AM Singapore Time on 14 July 2021.
Uptime Institute and South Asia Pacific industry peers attended an interactive discussion on the Uptime Institute Tier Standard as it pertains to Tier III verses Tier IV infrastructure. The session included a presentation from Chris Brown, Uptime Institute Chief Technology Officer, plus time for questions and answers. The discussion focused on the following and other Tier related topics:
- Concepts and benefits of Tier III and Tier IV (i.e., What drives the decision to choose one over the other?)
- Misconceptions around Tier IV (i.e., Is 2N infrastructure required? Do I need 2 utility sources on separate power grids? Does the Tier level mean defined availability? Other misconceptions?)
- Cost differences in Tier III verses Tier IV (design, construction, and certification)
