RECAP | EMEA Spring Network Conference - 16th - 18th April [PRESENTATIONS POSTED]
The EMEA Network 2018 Spring meeting was rated as particularly strong by the 40 plus attendees who gathered in Vienna. Apart from the visit to e-shelter data centre, the EMEA members discussed outages and resiliency; the gradual but steady move of data centre capacity from enterprises to colocation and cloud; the value of Eco-mode UPS’s; the OSDA (open systems Data center alliance standard and its relationship to Tiers (and likely collaboration between Uptime and Green Grid); Li Ion battery technology; infrastructure security; reporting and information flow between customers, IT and DC operators; the Uptime 2018 survey findings; and major strategic concerns of DC operators. Presenters included Lex Coors, Chief Data Center Technology & Engineering Officer of Interxion; Adam Tamburini of e-shelter; and Morten Stoevring, a Global Expert in Battery Technologies and UPS systems, Vice President of Technology Secure Power from Schneider Electric’s research Laboratory’s.
