The Uptime Network is launching an important and ambitious new initiative, and we'd like to involve all members who are exploring or implementing AI to support data center operations.
The AI in Data Center Operations arose from multiple Network requests to collaborate in the development of positions and guidance regarding the best ways to use AI as a means of enhancing data center operational efficiency. We are pleased to support this work: Network members are uniquely positioned to identify opportunities, assess options and deliver relevant insights that will enable our community to adopt AI quickly and confidently.
To launch this initiative, we convened a steering committee discussion involving a cross-section of members, in which we identified five AI categories, and initial topics in each:
We are currently forming working groups to develop positions and guidance in these areas. The attached file highlights our charter, approach, topic plans, and working group meeting/output objectives: https://network.uptimeinstitute.com/resource/joining-ai-data-center-operations-working-group
If you or any of your colleagues would be interested in contributing to peer-developed insight and guidance, please contact me via the Comments section or email (moneil@uptimeinstitute.com). Please note that we’ve defined an approach that will cap working group time commitments to 10 hours over a four month period, so it will not be burdensome to participate in thought leadership discussions in any topic area. As a further participation bonus, we will publish the names of any key contributor who wishes to be recognized as a thought leader when we produce our first wave of outputs from this workstream.
Thank you in advance for your help! Please contact me if you’d like to discuss this further, or explore ways of becoming involved with the AI in Data Center Operations initiative.
