Using optimization software for cooling and capacity gains

Data center cooling, power and IT systems have grown in complexity, while generating enormous volumes of operational data. Traditional analytics methods involving spreadsheets and manual data collection techniques to make sense of this data are inadequate.

Established data center management tools such as data center infrastructure management (DCIM) software and building management systems (BMS) focus primarily on asset management and monitoring. In contrast, data center optimization software attempts to interpret operational data from these and other systems to provide automatically generated recommendations and, in some cases, to directly control power and cooling systems.
