European legislation prompts greater environmental action
Data center operators in Europe are investing in data center efficiency in response to new regulations. The same rules are also driving a faster increase in the reporting of environmental metrics compared with the rest of the world.
Findings from the Uptime Institute Global Data Center Survey 2024 show that operators around the world have invested in more efficient facility equipment in response to regulations, as well as reporting more data. Breaking the figures down by region, there was a clear difference between the 164 respondents in Europe and the 503 from the rest of the world.
